New York may be the official home of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, but with a year-round presence thanks to their Destination Dance program, Atlanta is Ailey’s second home.
The professional company has performed here for more than four decades, and next month begins their 42nd season in Atlanta. Lois Reitzes spoke with Ailey Artistic Director Robert Battle about this year’s programming, as well as a workshop and panel discussion taking place Jan. 11 at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.
