Artist Larry Walker's decades-long career celebrated with two new exhibitions

Larry Walker’s career spans over 50 plus years as an artist throughout the U.S. After teaching in Detroit and Northern California, he moved to Atlanta in 1983 and taught at Georgia State University for 17 years, most of which he was the Director of the School of Art and Design.

In 2000, he retired as a Professor Emeritus and continued his prolific career as an artist, exhibiting in numerous local and national institutions.

Now, at age 87 and having recently recovered from a stroke, Larry Walker has two new exhibitions. “Enigmatic Messenger” at Mason Fine Art Gallery and “Other Voices: Selections from the Private Art Collection of Gwen and Larry Walker” at the PATH Museum. In this interview, “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes speaks with Larry Walker about his career and new exhibitions.
