In anticipation of a wave of tourists for the FIFA World Cup matches in Atlanta, small businesses located near the Atlanta Beltline are hopeful that a new initiative will ensure they’re not left out of the projected revenue. Recently, the Beltline launched the FIFA World Cup 26 Business Readiness and Activation Playbook and the Beltline Digital Hub.

Between June 11 and July 19, Atlanta will host eight matches of the massive international soccer tournament. The surge in tourism is estimated to pump from $500 million to more than $1 billion into the Atlanta area’s economy. The Atlanta Beltline is encouraging small business owners to apply for the Beltline Business Ventures accelerator program to take advantage of this financial boost.

On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” program host Rose Scott talks with Natalie Jones, who serves as the Atlanta Beltline project manager for the Business Solutions Office, Anthony Pope, the co-founder and design principal of Atelier 7 Architects, and Latrice Rochelle and Xavier John of PARLAY Savory Saloon. They discussed how they are scaling and gearing up for the world’s largest sporting event and shared details about what other small business owners can do to activate their businesses.
