Longtime Atlanta DJ and media personality Frank Ski, whose voice you may well know from his many years on KISS 104.1, is passionate about natural science, arts and education.
For the last 20 years, he’s been bringing it all together off the mic with the Frank Ski Kids Foundation, helping to create unforgettable educational expeditions for participating students whose schools might not be able to provide them. Past trips include the Amazon Rainforest, the Great Barrier Reef and other natural wonders threatened by climate change.
Ski was so inspired by these journeys that he created an ambient concept album dedicated to the natural wonders of the world called “Climate Change,” which includes on-site field recordings he made during his travels with the foundation. “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes spoke with Ski about his ambient musical ode to our natural world and how he was inspired to create it.
