Last year, millions watched the jaw-dropping happenings within the Upside Down of “Stranger Things,” making season 3 the second most popular Netflix title of 2019.

The show, created by the Duffer Brothers, was a runner-up to the Netflix action film “Murder Mystery,” starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Popularity was determined by the number of subscribers who watched at least two minutes of a title within the first 28 days of its release.

The sci-fi show, centering around supernatural events in the fictional town of Hawkins, was watched by more than 64 million members during the first four weeks of its release, according to Variety

Last season, places around metro Atlanta made appearances in the show set in the 1980s, including Gwinnett Place Mall as Starcourt Mall and South Bend Pool as the Hawkins Community Pool.

Season 4 of “Stranger Things” will reportedly begin filming soon, but this hasn’t been confirmed by Netflix.
