The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is celebrating the 30th year of its Talent Development Program, or The TDP, as it’s known.

The program provides young Black and Latinx musicians the opportunity to receive high-level training in their respective fields.

A celebratory concert on Nov. 18, held at the Symphony Hall and is free and open to the public, will feature performances by its founding members, with talented students past and present.

In this interview, Talent Development Program Manager Ryan Walks, along with Joshua Williams, TDP alumnus, Tubist, and ASO fellow, join “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to talk more about the program.

“We’re actually now, 30 years later, a part of this great cohort that we call Pathway Programs, and so it’s just been a very exciting thing to see,” Walks said.

The “Talent Development Program Musicale: An Alumni Celebration” is Saturday, Nov. 18. More information is available here.
