Reimagined is a word we’ve heard often in 2020.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has reimagined its season with a “Virtual Stage” and many offerings to keep musicians and music lovers connected.

“City Lights” host Lois Reitzes spoke via Zoom with Jennifer Barlament, executive director of the ASO, about the virtual content.

If you have a virtual membership, you’ll be able to choose three online concerts from the fall season for $48, or six concerts for $96. Subscribers and virtual members can watch performances when they premiere. Virtual members can watch them as many times as they’d like for 72 hours afterwards. Subscribers can watch the performances whenever they’d like for two weeks after the concert premieres.

The ASO also will be hosting “Live from the Drive-In” concerts at the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre.

Viewers can enjoy performances from the privacy and safety of their own cars. The socially distant parking allows for a “tailgate space” next to your vehicle to grill out and have seating.

The next performance on the “Virtual Stage” will be Oct. 22 with principal cellist Rainer Eudeikis as soloist in a concerto by Haydn.

The next drive-in performance will be Oct. 22 at Ameris, presenting Smith & Myers of Shinedown with special guests J.R. Moore & Zack Mack. The ASO will not be performing during this concert. The Oct. 25 concert, “The Music of David Bowie,” will feature the ASO with a full rock band, conducted by Brent Havens and featuring vocalist Tony Vincent.
