Hailing from a farm in Brooks, Georgia, Mattiel Brown is quickly making a name for herself in Atlanta’s music scene. Brown’s garage-rock tunes has attracted a fast-growing audience.
“The music project was something to fuel my creative juices outside of my paid job,” Brown, who works full-time as a designer and illustrator at MailChimp, told City Lights host Lois Reitzes. “So I never really expected it to be a success. I think it was just a creative outlet that I needed.”
Brown released her first full-length, self-titled album last September. And now, she’s landed a tour with Jack White. Brown will open for him from April 20 to 25.
