Book 'Vagabond Princess' sheds light on extraordinary life of Mughal Empire Princess Gulbadan

When we think of feminism and women’s achievements, the 16^thcentury Mughal Empire doesn’t immediately come to mind.

But now “Vagabond Princess“, a new book by Ruby Lal, brings to light the extraordinary life and great adventures of Princess Gulbadan, who lived from 1523-1603.

Dr. Lal is a professor of South Asian history at Emory University. In this interview, Lal speaks with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes about the new biography.
