“Honey on the Page” is a new collection of Yiddish children’s stories, edited and translated by Emory professor Miriam Udel. The book features a diverse set of poems and short stories, ranging from old folktales and fables to stories of Jewish holidays and history.
Many of the stories within “Honey On the Page” are being seen translated into English for the first time. The book is also filled with many wonderful illustrations done by children’s book illustrator Paula Cohen.
Miriam Udel spoke to “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes about her book, and what it was like compiling the stories in the book.
