The City of Atlanta is applying for a grant to turn a forested area in southwest Atlanta into a new neighborhood park.

Through a sparse forest and down a hill, there’s a forest with a little lake tucked into a neighborhood off Campbellton Road.

“The neighbors here that were so insistent that this park was beautiful and it needed some attention and hadn’t been given any attention for quite a while,” said Tara Buckner, an urban planner with the City of Atlanta’s Department of Parks and Recreation.
