Since October 2024, people in South Cobb have been able to reserve on-demand transit through the CobbLinc Go pilot program. The two-year public transit program provides “curb to curb” service for passengers over 26 square miles across Austell, Powder Springs and southwestern Marietta. Essentially similar to requesting an Uber or Lyft, Cobb residents can book a trip through the CobbLinc app or by calling to reserve a ride and be picked up by a CobbLinc Go minivan. Trips are $2.50 per ride.

Drew Raessler, who serves as the director of the Cobb County Department of Transportation, also known as Cobb DOT, says CobbLinc Go is operating successfully and ridership continues to grow.

“We’re operating almost 3,000 trips per month,” explained Raessler on Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look.”  “We are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. On average that works out to about 150 trips per day. So, it’s been very successful.”
