Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines is now requiring all passengers to wear a mask or face covering when flying.

As WABE’s Maria White Tillman reports, the airline says the move was made to add an extra layer of protection to customers and employees during the coronavirus pandemic.

Passengers on Delta flights will have to wear a mask or scarf across all Delta touchpoints including check-in, Delta Sky Clubs and boarding gates.

Face coverings are also required onboard the aircraft for the duration of the flight, except for when passengers are eating.

The airline will provide masks to those who don’t have them.

Delta says employees are required to wear masks at work when they’re within 6 feet of other people.
