Videographer

WABE Studios is looking to hire a talented and experienced videographer to join our Multiplatform team. As a videographer, you will capture video content for several WABE original series and specials and maintain our video production equipment. The ideal candidate is a motivated storyteller who is flexible, highly organized, and can adapt quickly to changing goals and objectives. They work collaboratively with producers and talent. They have an eye for capturing top-tier content that can be turned into a compelling and relevant story that will connect with the target audience. Experience in a fast-paced production company, broadcast environment, or post-production facility is essential.   

Accountabilities:  

  • Film videos in our studio, on set, or on location.   
  • Shoot in various video styles (lifestyle, interview, social media, event productions, run-and-gun, etc.)  
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and inventory on all production equipment  
  • Coordinate media handoff with post-production  
  • Make sure all production gear is organized and ready to go for each video shoot  
  • Work with reporters and producers in the field to create visually memorable stories   
  • Take notes and field direction from producers and reporters  
  • Strong storytelling capabilities  
  • Ability to work independently whilst contributing to overall team goals 
  • Ability to transport production equipment  
  • Meet daily deadlines  

  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Minimum of five years of experience in lighting and shooting video, organizing large multi-camera studio and field productions, and recording high-quality audio  
  • Ability to work outside office hours, including some weekends and holidays  
  • An eye and mindset for storytelling  
  • Strong working knowledge of the latest shooting styles, techniques, and equipment is essential  
  • Highly organized with good technical & broadcast knowledge  
  • Exceptional attention to detail and an artistic sense  
  • Proactive and flexible approach to work; comfortable with changing goals and objectives  
  • Excellent knowledge of production equipment (Cameras, lighting, grip gear, etc.)  
  • A driver’s license in good standing is required  
  • Ability to work all shifts, which may include nights and weekends
