Dalton man raises awareness about service member, veteran suicides to honor brother

Some of Chris Stephens’ fondest memories of his brother, Mike, involved watching Cincinnati Reds games. One of their last times together, Chris caught a foul ball at a Reds game against the Atlanta Braves.

Then, on Memorial Day 2017, Mike died by suicide. He served in the Navy for four years in the mid-1990’s. But after returning home, he struggled with alcohol and mental health issues. Following his brother’s passing, Chris discovered the severity of suicide among veterans and service members.
