Most schools are out for winter break, but families living in the DeKalb County School District can still receive free meals.

Families can get breakfast, lunch, and snacks at two locations: Stone Mountain Elementary School and Woodward Elementary School. Meals service began Dec. 26 and will continue on Dec. 27, 28, and 31 as well as Jan. 2 and 3 between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Students can pick up “Back Pack Meals” at both locations on Friday. They can also receive free vision screenings from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Jan. 3 at Woodward Elementary.

“When we talk about ‘wrap-around’ services…we are talking about providing opportunities for success by any means necessary,” DeKalb County Superintendent Stephen Green said in a statement.

The services are free of charge to all children in the DeKalb County community. They’re funded through a grant from the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and Jewish Family and Career Services.
