DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Sequoyah Middle School Interim Principal Tiffany Sims has been moved to a different position within the DeKalb County School District.

The move occurred four days after several public commenters raised allegations that the principal told a teacher to stop discussing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and promoting an ICE safety hotline.

Sims, who started in the role on July 1, and previously served as principal at Towers High School, is shifting to a professional learning position, and two administrators, Melanie Pearch and Peggy Davis, will now serve as the acting leaders for the school, according to a Dec. 12 statement sent to Sequoyah Middle’s parents from DeKalb Middle Schools Superintendent Bridgette Allen.
