Adria Kitchens wants her children to inherit a better world. That’s why she’s so passionate about driving collective transformation, fostering connection, healing and taking positive anti-racism action. That’s part of the work she does as the Equitable Dinners program manager at Thriving Together Atlanta.

Since January 2020, Thriving Together Atlanta has partnered with other local organizations to bring together more than 12,000 people from across the metro Atlanta area for Equitable Dinners. It involves gathering strangers, friends and work colleagues for a meal to discuss wide-ranging and challenging topics, such as race relations, health equity and other pressing social issues. Each conversation, held online or in person, includes a performance to help guide and facilitate the conversation.

On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Kitchens joined the program to talk more about the origin and impact of the series.
