We continue our “City Lights” series on 50 years of Atlanta Symphony Orchestra broadcasts on WABE with longtime Principal Clarinetist Laura Ardan. She was with the ASO for four decades and served three music directors, including maestro Robert Shaw.
“When I think about Robert Spano, who I spent 21 years within the Atlanta Symphony, and he was always himself, that’s what I come away with,” said Ardan.
She sat down with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to share insight into the orchestra’s evolution and some great stories.
Correction: Laura Ardan’s last name was misspelled in a previous version of this story. The story has been updated to correct that.
