For the first time, four Black women will be the chairwomen of their respective county commissions in Georgia.
Locally, Carlotta Harrell, Lisa Cupid, Nicole Love Hendrickson and Dr. Romona Jackson Jones will serve as chairs of their commissions simultaneously as Kamala Harris, the first Black, South Asian woman, leads nationally as vice president of the United States.
On Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Spelman College political science professor John Eaves talks with host Rose Scott about how county governments operate.
The former Fulton County chair also reflects on his tenure as chairman. He also explains the role and responsibilities of a county commission and its chairperson.
