After surviving a cancer scare, former President Jimmy Carter has written his 32nd book. It’s called “Faith: A Journey for All.”

In the book, Carter looks at the role of faith in major past and present events in the U.S. and around the world.

“Morning Edition” host Denis O’Hayer recently spoke with Carter about the book in a wide-ranging conversation that touched on many other topics: from the Atlanta Project, an effort in the 1990s to take on economic inequality in the city, to the current conflict in Syria.
