The Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ (DCA) State Housing Trust Fund for the Homeless Commission announced Tuesday the launch of Georgia Rehoused, a streamlined process for communities to submit funding proposals to help reduce homelessness statewide.

Georgia Rehoused will use a single pre-application, available for submission now through April 10, to determine eligibility for various funding opportunities.

How do you apply to Georgia Rehoused?

The pre-application process allows DCA to support and advise communities on their compliance with basic eligibility requirements and their readiness to proceed with a final application, according to officials. It will also help to determine timing and award limitations for finite funding.

After being examined, DCA staff will reach out to pre-applicants to recommend either submitting a full application or completing additional work to meet basic eligibility requirements.

The department intends to distribute available state and federal funding through Georgia Rehoused in three award cycles.

“The Georgia Rehoused Grant is a new way to bring innovative and stable housing opportunities to Georgia,” said Christopher Nunn, DCA commissioner, in a Tuesday release. “We are seeing creative housing solutions introduced across the country, and we know Georgia communities and local partners are ready to provide similar opportunities.”

What are the requirements for submission?

According to DCA officials, pre-applicants must meet the following three requirements:

  • Must be a collaborative partnership, led by a local government, representing local community interest and decisions
  • Able to show how funds will provide a reduction in the unsheltered population in the community
  • Must be registered in Homeless Management Information System, known as HMIS.

The pre-application will close on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. All applications must be submitted online through the department’s application portal.
