Georgia State Parks And Historic Sites Celebrates 90 Years

As fall approaches, summer vacations will soon come to an end. Kim Hatcher, a public affairs coordinator for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, discusses upcoming events and activities at Georgia State Parks.

Amid the pandemic, Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites have seen an unprecedented amount of visitors as it celebrates 90 years in operation.

Kim Hatcher, a public affairs coordinator for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, says the health and safety of park rangers and guests have been a priority.

“People needed to get outside, it’s not just good for your body, but it’s good for your mental health good for your soul,” said Hatcher on Monday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

During the conversation, Hatcher further discussed the connection between parks and their communities and upcoming seasonal activities and events to celebrate Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites being in operation for nine decades.
