Georgia Wildlife Officials Offer Fishing Guide, Tips Online

Georgia wildlife officials are offering online tips to help anglers enjoy Georgia reservoirs and rivers.

The website of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division now features updated fishing prospects. The guides are meant to provide in-depth information on 31 reservoirs and 18 rivers for anglers of all skill levels.

The fishing prospect guides include best bets, technique tips, target recommendations and contact information as well as links to boat ramps, a lake map and local weather forecasts.

The guides compiled by department fisheries biologists and are based on sampling efforts, knowledge of past fishing trends, staff fishing experiences and discussions with anglers and marina owners.

The department reminds anglers they must have a current state fishing license to fish in public waters.
