Gritty Female Boston Private Eye Returns In ‘Brutality’

The character of Fina Ludlow is back in print in “Brutality,” which is being published this week as the third in a series of crime fiction novels by Ingrid Thoft.

As “City Lights” contributor Michele Ross explained, Ludlow is a different kind of private eye, based in Boston and with a complicated family drama that she’s constantly battling against.

Ross recommends starting with the first two books in the series, “Loyalty” and “Identity,” to get a real feel for this “30ish single woman who packs a gun and a mean punch, lives solely on junk food and is tough as nails.”

She survives being mugged, beaten and stabbed – which, along with constant lies from clients and crooks, only makes her more determined.
