A ground stop has been lifted after the tower at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport was evacuated due to “strong gas fumes,” according to the Federal Aviation Administration and a spokesperson for the airport.

The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department has investigated the fumes and given the all-clear, according to the spokesperson, and normal operations have resumed, with controllers back in their offices.
