How it all began for Atlanta’s OutKast ahead of the group's induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

A huge moment in hip-hop history is happening this week. On Saturday, Nov. 8, OutKast will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class.

From their first studio album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik in 1994, to their last, Idlewild in 2006, André 3000 and Big Boi have created a genre-blended discography of music.

On Wednesday, ahead of the ceremony, “Closer Look” program host Rose Scott spoke with a roundtable of guests about the origins and influence of OutKast.
