Atlanta-based Home Depot says it is building three more warehousing facilities across metro Atlanta over the next 18 months.

As WABE’s Maria White Tillman reports, the new distribution centers will result in 1,000 additional jobs.

The home improvement retailer says the new facilities will help meet the company’s growing demand for flexible delivery and pickup options for both professional and do-it-yourself customers.

The new jobs — both part-time and full-time — will be created to support the added distribution centers.

Home Depot’s expansion project will bring jobs to DeKalb, Henry and Fulton counties.

The company says it also has plans to open an order fulfillment operation in East Point in late 2021.
