The deepening of the Savannah port is expected to start later this year. The project comes as East Coast ports throughout the U.S. prepare to handle larger cargo ships expected to arrive from the Panama Canal in 2016.
One person who’s excited about Savannah’s port expansion is Darrel Penn. He’s a manager of business development for C.H. Robinson, an international third party logistics company with two offices in the Atlanta metro area.
