Humanitarians reflect on serving people during the Russia-Ukraine war

On the one–year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the U.S. Pentagon announced a $2 billion commitment to Ukraine. The long-term security assistance will be used to send more rounds of ammunition and a variety of high-tech drones.

On Friday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Meave, a manager for CARE Ukraine, and Daria Chekalova, the deputy head and project manager at NGO Girls, discussed working as humanitarians in Ukraine during the war and the role women play in leadership and the humanitarian response.
