Post-pandemic reports show MARTA, as well as many other transit systems across the nation, are grappling with some of the same challenges. This includes declining ridership, funding instability, aging infrastructure, and competition from rideshare companies.

Jonathan Hunt, who was recently appointed interim CEO and general manager of MARTA, was a featured guest on “Closer Look.”

Hunt talked with program host Rose Scott about new initiatives to address lingering challenges ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and his overall vision for Georgia’s largest transit system.
