Judah Friedlander came to national fame as Frank Rossitano on the NBC sitcom “30 Rock,” but stand-up comedy has been his main gig since 1989.
Until last year, he’d never released a stand-up special or album. Friedlander even calls his 2017 Netflix “anti-special,” “America is the Greatest Country in the United States,” more akin to a documentary.
Shot in black and white and filmed over multiple nights, Judah Friedlander told “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes that his special is really more of a “stand-up performance film.” The artistic risk is paying off; “America Is The Great Country” was recently nominated for a Webby Award.
