Cigna, Humana and UnitedHealth Group are being criticized for their alleged use of artificial intelligence to reject insurance claims. In the case of Cigna, Glenn Danas, a partner at Clarkson Law Firm, says the company rejected more than 300,000 within two months, with their system only spending 1.2 seconds reviewing each claim.

On Wednesday’s “Closer Look,” Danas referenced two cases where he says the patients died shortly after being sent home from their treatments, earlier than their providers recommended.
