On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Jeff Graham, the executive director of Georgia Equality renewed his organization’s push to continue fighting for the passage of a statewide nondiscrimination civil rights bill.

In response, the top leaders of the  Georgia Log Cabin Republicans — an organization associated with LGBTQ+ conservatives — said they agree and that everyone should be treated fairly.

“I’m interested in joining the 28 other states that protect sexual orientation or gender identity statutorily and putting it in code,” said Coleman Williamson, the vice president of the Georgia Log Cabin Republicans.

Coleman and Sergio Mendez, the president of the Georgia Log Cabin Republicans, were guests on Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

They talked with show host Rose Scott about their organization’s top legislative priorities for 2023 and proposed legislation they believe could negatively impact the LGBTQ+ community.
