The Atlanta Opera’s season continues with the world theatrical premiere of “Out of Darkness: Two Remain.”

Based on the poetry and writings of two Auschwitz survivors, the contemporary chamber opera looks at the personal toll the Holocaust had on both the gay and Jewish communities.

On “City Lights,” host Lois Reitzes spoke with librettist Gene Scheer and director Tomer Zvulun about the production.

Out of Darkness: Two Remain” premieres April 5 at Theatrical Outfit and closes April 15. There will be a panel discussion at the Breman Museum on April 4 and a talkback April 5.
