Local Solarize campaigns encourage homeowners to go solar

According to the Solar Energy Industries Association, as of 2022, at least 3.3 million households in the U.S. have installed solar panels.

In the same year, a Pew Research Center survey found that 39% of homeowners have considered installing solar panels.

This all comes as the Inflation Reduction Act, which was signed into law by President Biden, allows homeowners who install a solar photovoltaic system to take advantage of a 30% solar tax credit.

On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Don Moreland, the founder of Solar Crowdsource and the executive director of Georgia Solar Energy Association, spoke with show host Rose Scott about Solarize Gwinnett and Solarize Cobb.

The two volunteer-led community campaigns that are happening now urge homeowners to switch to solar energy.
