Georgia lawmakers have just finished up another week of their 40-day legislation session. They’ve been at it about a month now.

It’s already proving to be a session dominated by election-year politics, but state lawmakers did reach a milestone this week by passing the first overhaul of Georgia’s adoption laws in almost 30 years.

WABE’s politics and government reporter Johnny Kauffman joined Denis O’Hayer on “Morning Edition” to talk about the adoption bill, and what else state lawmakers have been working on this week.
