A visit to the doctor changed Martinus Evans’ life forever.

More than a decade ago, the former football player was advised to “lose weight or die.”

Evans says that at the time, he weighed more than 350 pounds, was having hip issues and the doctor told him to start walking.

Evans took another route; he began running.

“I ran for a minute and every day I just continued to run just a little bit longer than the day I did before, “ explained Evans, who now participates in marathons.

On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Evans talks with show host Rose Scott about his holistic approach to health and wellness, body positivity and his new book, “SLOW AF RUN CLUB: The Ultimate Guide for Anyone Who Wants to Run.”
