Music Midtown Returns With Additional Night Of Music

The lineup is out for this year’s Music Midtown.

The two-day music festival will feature some of the biggest recording acts.

And as WABE’s Rose Scott reports, there’s something for everyone.

In the words of the self-proclaimed King of The South, “you can have whatever you like.”

Atlanta’s own T.I will take to the stage the first night of Music Midtown.

Hip-hop is just one of the many kinds of music festival promoter Peter Conlon says will provide a balance for fans.

“This year we really wanted to be diverse but we also wanted a balance where things work together, you don’t want to be so diverse you confuse people so we’re really happy that all these things are very much on to themselves yet altogether it’s a great festival,” says Conlon of Live Nation.

Unlike last year, Music Midtown will take place over two days.

That also means more acts could be added like longtime rocker Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

She does an incredible show says Conlon and “when people hear hit after hit it’s just amazed to hear how many songs she’s done.”

Partial proceeds from the music festival will benefit Centers of Hope.

The recreation centers provide a place for inner-city youth to attend.

This year’s Music Midtown is September 21st and 22nd at Piedmont Park.
