It’s a tale of opposing stories when it comes to telling the history, identity and legacy of Natchez, Mississippi. The new documentary “Natchez” explores the many contradictions in how the town’s antebellum history is being told to tourists.

Ahead of the documentary’s exclusive opening at the Tara Theatre on Nov. 7, for Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” program host Rose Scott talked with Suzannah Herbert, the film’s director.

During the discussion, Hubert talked more about the inspiration behind the film, what she learned from Natchez residents and why she feels it’s important to tell a more nuanced story about Natchez.
