The epic book-length poem, “We the People of the United States,” comes as the U.S. celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2026.
It’s a collection that award-winning poet, Joshua Bennett, uses to weave together the lives of a number of prominent Black historical figures.
Bennett found it fitting to include the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and feature his beloved Atlanta.
