The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) recently released its 2025 Regional Commuter Survey. The detailed survey takes a deep dive into how people across the 20-county Atlanta region get to work and how those patterns are changing over time.

Roughly 5,600 people participated in the survey, conducted every three to five years, via household mailers. The report asked a wide variety of questions that explore commuter travel times, distances from home to work, commuter modes of transportation and major barriers to alternative options for commuting.

Johann Weber, a program administrator at ARC, spearheaded the project. He spoke with “Closer Look” host Rose Scott about the report’s goal and some of its key findings, including shifts in commuter patterns and the growing prevalence of telework in metro Atlanta.
