Reporters at The Intercept recently launched its “Climate and Punishment” series.

The new series investigates how people incarcerated at more than 6,500 facilities in the U.S. are exposed to heat, floods, wildfires and extreme weather events related to climate change.

On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Alleen Brown, a reporter at The Intercept, talked with program host Rose Scott about what research reveals about the conditions at prisons and jails in Georgia.
