Playwright, poet, writer and activist Pearl Cleage is an Atlanta treasure of national renown.
Now, in a new production at Actor’s Express, we visit Cleage’s vision of the Harlem Renaissance in her classic, “Blues for an Alabama Sky,” centering around the life of a singer named Angel facing life-defining choices.
Cleage and director Amanda Washington joined Lois Reitzes on Wednesday’s edition of “City Lights” to discuss the upcoming play, which is on stage at Actor’s Express from May 30 to June 23.
