Kevin Rinker

Kevin Rinker joined WABE in 2014. He is a podcast producer and co-host of “WABE’s Week in Review.”

He is a producer on “Health Wanted,” “Buried Truths,” and “The Upside of Jazz.” Other shows he has produced at WABE include “The Boom,” “Just Sat with Maximilian Hines,” “Calls for Justice,” “How Do You Atlanta?,” “Wake Up & Create,” and “Democracy Vibe Check.”

Kevin moved to Atlanta from Pullman, WA, where he worked at Northwest Public Radio for six years. He was a part-time announcer at NWPR while studying neuroscience and psychology as an undergrad. After graduating with two degrees and a minor in Spanish, he drove a city bus for three months before becoming traffic manager and eventually traffic/operations manager at NWPR.

When he moved across the country with his wife and two dogs, he started in operations at WABE, running the board for “City Lights with Lois Retizes” and “Closer Look with Rose Scott,” and producing stories as often as possible. When WABE formed a podcast department in 2022, Kevin was the first member of the team.
