Protesters held signs as they marched to the Richard B. Russell Federal Building during the ‘Families Belong Together’ Rally in Atlanta.

Children and adults assembled to end immigrant family separation at the “Families Belong Together” rally in Atlanta on June 30.

More than 50 local organizations, including the Latino Community Fund and Georgia Alliance for Social Justice, united for the mass gathering.

During the rally, thousands marched from the Atlanta City Detention Center to the Richard Russell Federal building.

Georgia Congressman John Lewis was one of the speakers at the rally and expressed that “there is no such thing as an illegal human being.”

Signs held by protestors ranged from saying “Infants need love to thrive! Reunite separated families!” to “I once was that child I have to care!”
