This weekend, Atlanta audiences will be treated to an original puppetry play by Brooklyn-based artist Robin Frohardt.

“The Pigeoning” is a heartfelt, dark comedy about an old man named Frank who is convinced that pigeons are plotting against him.

“City Lights” host Lois Reitzes spoke with Frohardt about the inspiration for the show, as well as the mechanics of the puppets and the original music for the production.

Frohardt said that “part of the reason that puppetry is so engaging is that the objects are coming to life in the audience’s mind.”

“The Pigeoning” is recommended for audiences age 13 and up and is on stage Feb. 9-11 at the Center for Puppetry Arts.
