About the Host
Bill Nigut

Bill Nigut has covered national and Georgia state politics over a period of five decades. During his 20-year tenure at WSB-TV, he traveled the country covering five presidential elections, ten national conventions, and frequently reported on major events from the White House and Capitol Hill. He also covered 19 sessions of the Georgia General Assembly. In addition to his work at WSB, Bill hosted a daily political discussion program at GPB Radio and went on to co-host a show for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution which aired on WABE. Although the major focus of his career has been on political journalism, he has also frequently hosted programs that reflect his love of theater, literature and music.
Bill is a member of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame and is a recipient of GAB’s prestigious Silver Circle Award for his service in Georgia journalism. He also is a member of the Atlanta Press Club Hall of Fame.
Bill developed a love of journalism growing up in Chicago, a city with a legendary tradition of great newspapering and reporting, and where four daily newspapers flourished throughout his formative years there. Like many others, he mourns the loss of local journalism in many communities and is proud to join the team at WABE which continues to support meaningful reporting on Atlanta and beyond.
