Primary Runoff Elections Shake Up Georgia Political Establishment

There was a big upset in Georgia politics Tuesday.

Secretary of State Brian Kemp won the Republican nomination for governor, defeating Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle by about 40 points. Kemp will go on to face Democrat Stacey Abrams in the general election this November.

WABE political reporter Johnny Kauffman joined Jim Burress on “Morning Edition” to talk about that race and some of the other disruptive results from this week’s primary runoff elections.
