Renowned Opera Singer Stephanie Blythe Will Perform From The Great American Songbook With Atlanta Opera
Stephanie Blythe will be performing from the Great American Songbook at Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center this weekend.

Mezzo-Soprano opera singer Stephanie Blythe will be showcasing her talents alongside the Atlanta Opera this weekend. The wold-renowned singer will perform works from the Great American Songbook and other arrangements she has chosen specifically for the night.
Some fan favorites she will feature is “Chattanooga Choo Choo” and “Serenade in Blue.” You can also be sure to hear Tin Pan Alley classics by Irving Berlin, Ross & Hart, Noel Coward, and more.
Blythe’s repertoire ranges from Handel to Wagner, contemporary to classics. She has performed on many stage around the world from Carnegie Hall, to the Metropolitan Opera, to the Paris National Opera. She was named Musical America’s vocalist of the Year in 2009. In 2014, she released a crossover album “As Long as There Are Songs.” She created the album alongside pianist Craig Terry, whom she will be performing with this Saturday.
Last December she was named the artistic director of the Graduate Vocal Arts program at the Bard College Conservatory of Music. She will take on that role in July. Blythe believes she is the product of a very generous group of mentors and her wish is to help future generations with their singing endeavors.
“We have to sort of be perpetual students, and we find mentors everywhere. The best thing we can do is to become one. I think that’s the best way to honor the ones that have come before us,” said Blythe.
